As we go through our daily lives, our sequence of everyday movement can also be interpred as moments from a finished dance.
Joy, humour, pain, danger and grace are present in all aspects of our physical expression, from the confidence of a child on a rock at the edge of the sea to men swinging off windows six floors high as they clean urban buildings.
The images in the exhibition are accompanied by words from people interviewed in the street who reflect on how and when dance came into their lives. Carl Cordonnier is a French Photographer who has created exhibitions across Europe, in both galleries and urban spaces. Penny Rae, the Artistic Director of Dance City, has collaborated with Carl over the last seven years by researching and creating texts that accompany their exhibitions.
